During the flight from Rome to Armenia, the Pope spoke to reporters about two important current issues: the United Kingdom's vote to exit the European Union and the signing of the peace process in Colombia.
In regards to Brexit, he stressed that "it is the will expressed by the people” and that "it would demand a greater responsibility for us to ensure the greater good of the UK, and well being and coexistence with the rest of the European continent.”

On a lighter note, Pope Francis demonstrated his elation with regard to Colombia's peace process. He was "happy” for peace after "fifty years of war and a guerrilla war, and so much bloodshed.” He asked to protect the process so that it can never be reversed "so they can not go back to war.”
