Now that the Pope is back from his spiritual retreat, he has a busy week ahead of him. On Monday March 2nd, he is planning on meeting with the Prime Minister of Iraqi Kurdistan, Nerchirvan ;Barzani. Kurdistan is the only area in Iraq where thousands of Christian families have found refuge from the Islamic State. ; That same day, the Vatican's Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace will hold a press conference, led by Cardinal Peter Turkson, ;to introduce a project to help communities that live in the Amazon. ; On Wednesday the Pope will lead his weekly general audience in St. Peter's Square. ; This same week, bishops from North Africa will be meeting with Pope Francis as part of their ad limina visit. ; On Saturday March 7th, the Pope will meet with thousands of members from the Communion and Liberation movement. They will make their way to Rome from across the globe. That afternoon, the Pope will visit the church of All Saints, to mark the 50th anniversary of Paul VI's first Mass in the vernacular. It was the first time a Pope held a public Mass that was not in Latin. ; On Sunday at noon, the Pope will lead the Angelus from his studio window overlooking St. Peter's Square.
