The Pope has been named  Anthony Fisher as the new Archbishop of Sydney. The 54 year old Dominican friar will take over the post held by Cardinal George Pell, who is part of the Pope's advisory council.

Fisher is an expert in education and bio-ethics. For years, he led the John Paul II Institute for Marriage & Family, located in Melbourne. Back in 2012, he published a manual which dealt with issues like abortion and euthanasia.

ARCH. ANTHONY FISHER
Archbishop of Sydney (Australia)
'I think bioethics is an intersection of a lot of different issues, whether we believe there's a moral out there, or whether we make our own values. How our law should be, how our health system should be, what kind of a community we should have?

Before being nominated as Archbishop of Sydney, Fisher served as the auxiliary bishop of Sydney. The date when he will start his new post, is still in the works.
