Pope Francis met with Apple CEO Tim Cook in what seemed to be a cordial exchange of greetings.

'It's such an honor to meet you.

The private audience was brief, yet seemingly productive. Both the Pope and Cook already share some common interests in bridging people together through environmental issues and technology.

The Apple CEO gave Pope Francis a check, with an undisclosed amount, for his work.

'Yes, I have an offering. For your.. For your work.

Neither party has disclosed what was discussed, but afterward, the Pope spoke about technology and social media, calling modern forms of communicating 'a gift from God.

Today's meeting coincides with the 50th World Day of Social Communications.
