The pope's schedule for the month of September kicked off with many notable events, such as the canonization of Mother Teresa.

Pope Francis' schedule will start to unwind this week as he prepares for yet another trip to Assisi. His repeat visit will take place on Sept. 20 at the 30th anniversary of the World Day of Prayer for Peace, an annual event promoted by the St. Egidio Community. ;

On Monday, a special Thanksgiving Holy Mass for the canonization of Mother Teresa will celebrated by Cardinal Parolin at 9:55 a.m. at Saint Peter's Basilica.

The Pope's weekly General Audience will be held Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Square. Thousands of pilgrims are expected to attend.

On Saturday, he will hold a Jubilee Audience in St. Peter's Square at 10 a.m.

On Sunday, he will preside over the Angelus prayer in the company of thousands of pilgrims from around the world in St. Peter's Square at noon.

Although a date has not been confirmed, Pope Francis has also mentioned the desire to visit the towns affected by the earthquake in central Italy. Perhaps, he will make an impromptu trip to the rubble ridden zones this week? ;
