Benedict XVI meets with the president of Bavaria


As part of his visit to the Vatican, Markus Söder, president of Bavaria, had a brief meeting with Benedict XVI.

The Pope emeritus, born in Bavaria, met him in the living room of his residence, the Mater Ecclesiae Monastery. inside the Vatican Gardens.

Benedict remained seated but was smiling as he listened to him.

During the trip to the Vatican, the Bavarian president also met Pope Francis and brought him a basket with typical Bavarian treats that made Francis smile.
