Pope meets with new ambassador of Colombia in Holy See
Jorge Mario Eastman Robledo presented himself to his “namesake,” the pope, as ambassador of Colombia to the Holy See.
To mark the beginning of his diplomatic mission, the ambassador gave the Pope this sculpture of the Mother of Jesus.

Colombia is one of the countries that form the Amazon. In regards to the Special Assembly for the Synod in October, he also gifted the pope with a documentary on the challenges of the Amazon in his country.

The new ambassador has held many important political positions in Colombia. He was previously the deputy of Foreign Affairs, deputy Minister of Defense, and until now, he was the secretary general to the presidency.
