Pope Francis met with members of associations, congregations and movements dedicated to the Divine Mercy. They promote distinct pastoral initiatives in France.

Cardinal Philippe Barbarin thanked Pope Francis for promoting a message of mercy around the world.

POPE FRANCIS
“Mercy is, in fact, the ultimate and supreme act with which God comes to meet us and which opens our heart to the hope of being loved forever, whatever our poverty, whatever our sin. God's love for us is not an abstract word.”

The pope expressed gratitude for the association's service to the Church in France, in coordination with the French episcopate. He encouraged them to continue with this mission.

To conclude the encounter, Pope Francis invited them to prepare for Christmas by contemplating the Nativity and meditating on the poverty the Son of God chose to be among His people.
