New Belgian ambassador meets with Pope Francis

The new Belgian ambassador to the Holy See presented his credentials to the pope.

I present you with my credentials.

His name is Patrick Renault. He visited the pope with his wife and son and a few embassy officials.

He boasts a long diplomatic career and has worked as the director of communications for the Royal Palace in Belgium.

During his private meeting with the pope, he proposed keeping the conversation in Italian or French.

This is how Pope Francis responded.

Whatever is more comfortable for you.
