President of Kenya visits Pope Francis and invites him to visit country again

The president of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta visited the pope at the Vatican.

Welcome.

Thank you very much.

Their private meeting lasted about 25 minutes.

At the Vatican, he thanked the Catholic Church for its contribution to the country, especially to the education and health sectors.

The gift exchange was interesting.

This, Holy Father, is the tea from Kenya.

Besides tea, he gave the pope coffee and walnuts. He also gave him this symbolic sculpture of a lion protecting its cubs, and a photo album of the pope's visit to Kenya five years ago.

Hopefully to encourage you to come back.

The pope, besides a mosaic, gave the president four bottles of oil produced by the Vatican in Loreto.

The president also visited Card. Parolin to discuss Covid in Africa, the climate change and the refugee situation.
