In the pope's latest video message, Pope Francis noted that prayer can “change reality” and “our hearts,” and that “the heart of the Church's mission is prayer.”
In this month's message, the pope says “every time we read a short passage from the Gospel we hear Jesus speaking to us.” He reminds that prayer is having a conversation with Jesus, listening and replying to him. He encourages praying as a way to change reality and our hearts.
“Our heart changes when we pray. We can do many things, but without prayer, it does not work,” says Pope Francis. “In silence, everyone, each one in heartfelt prayer.”
