Pope Francis is using a cane for short trips and distances. This morning, he had to move from the popemobile to a chair to deliver his public catechesis. To do so, he used his cane and walked with considerable difficulty.

Minutes earlier, he had remained seated in the popemobile as he passed through crowds of pilgrims gathered in St. Peter's Square. Since the end of January, the Pope has had knee problems and has had to cancel some events in his schedule.
