It's a pleasure for me to convey to Your Holiness the greetings of His Majesty, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the greetings of Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the crown prince, and the Prime Minister.

Pope Francis welcomed the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Muhammad Abdul Ghaffar. The Ambassador presented his credentials to the Pope in the Apostolic Palace.

The Pope gave Ambassdaor Ghaffar a few of his texts including Fratelli Tutti and a medal marking the tenth anniversary of his election to the papacy.

This visit comes before Pope Francis will travel to Bahrain from November 3-6 to close the Bahrain Forum on dialogue between the East and West.
