The former Director of the CIA and Chief of Staff of the White House, Leon Panetta, met with Pope Francis in the Apostolic Palace.
During his directorship of the CIA, Panetta oversaw the operation that killed Osama Bin Laden. After his tenure as Director, Panetta was appointed as the United States Secretary of Defense by President Barak Obama. He served in this position from 2011 - 2013.
Since stepping out of public service, Panetta has served on the boards of the New York Stock Exchange, Oracle Corporation and the Panetta Institute for Public Policy.
As of now, no details have been released on what was discussed between Leon Panetta and Pope Francis.
