Many have busy schedules during the Christmas season and Pope Francis is no exception. Over the course of two weeks, he will preside over five different Masses and special events at the Vatican.

The first is Mass on Christmas Eve at 7:30pm in St. Peter's Basilica.

Then, at noon on Christmas Day, Pope Francis will deliver his Christmas message and impart the “Urbi et Orbi” blessing. On this day, the Pope usually speaks about a cause of suffering around the world. Last year, he focused on the war in Ukraine.

POPE FRANCIS
May the Lord make us ready for concrete gestures of solidarity to help those who are suffering, and enlighten the minds of those who have the power to silence guns and end this senseless war immediately!

At 5pm on New Year's Eve in St. Peter's Basilica, the Pope will celebrate First Vespers followed by the traditional singing of the hymn “Te Deum.”

Following this, he typically goes to see the nativity scene in St. Peter's Square, which he has already done this year.

On the following day to mark the Solemnity of Mary, Pope Francis will preside over Mass at 10am. Here, he will mark the 57th World Day of Peace. And this year, his message will focus on the challenges posed by artificial intelligence.

To wrap up the Christmas season, Pope Francis will preside over Mass on Saturday, January 6 on the Feast of the Epiphany.
