More than 20,000 people filled St. Peter's Square to join Pope Francis for his Sunday Angelus.

The Pope used this opportunity to call for peace.

POPE FRANCIS
The thousands of dead, wounded, displaced, the immense destruction causes pain, and this has tremendous consequences on the little ones and the helpless, who see their future compromised. I wonder: do you really think you are going to build a better world this way? Do you really think you are going to achieve peace? Enough, please! Let us all say: stop, please! Stop!

Pope Francis called for the release of hostages and added that the people of Gaza are still in need of humanitarian aid.

His message came a day after the United States delivered its first air shipment of aid to Gaza. The White House confirmed 38,000 plates of food arrived in southern Gaza, escorted by the Jordanian Air Force.
