This was the voice of the pope on the 21st day of his admission to the Gemelli Hospital in Rome.

POPE FRANCIS
I thank you with all my heart for your prayers for my health from the square, I accompany you from here. God bless you and the Virgin take care of you. Thank you.

An audio that Francis decided to record during the day to be broadcast during the recitation of the rosary in St. Peter's to thank the faithful for their prayers.

Oh yes, it was very moving to listen to him, his voice was a little bit cracked… but well, we have faith and we support his health through the holy rosary. May it be God's decision, but well, I want him to continue.

The reactions of the faithful upon hearing the Pope's message were overwhelming. His voice, cracked and tired, resounded in the square, being for many a message of hope.

I have noticed it a little bit lighter, but with a lot of hope. It is definitely a good sign that he is already working on some of the activities on his agenda, and I am very happy about that. I am leaving happy, tomorrow I am leaving for my country and I think I am also carrying very good things for my family.

For some pilgrims, it was a surprise to hear it.

By chance an improvised plan came up, we had a few days and we said, what better time now, this historic moment to be able to come to Rome and experience it in first person and we have come just today to pray for him and we have found him.

The truth is that we came here hoping not to see him obviously, but to know something about him in first person, and the truth is that we enjoyed hearing him.

During the last few weeks, there have been many rumors about Pope Francis' state of health. This message, despite its harshness, has been for many pilgrims a message of relief and a good sign.

To me, let's say that it has made my hair stand on end because I did not expect it. With the news that is going around out there, to hear him with that weak voice of hope and of giving us love and saying that he is there, that he is there, that we should pray for him…. Well, I was very impressed, I was very impressed.

The pilgrims who listened to the pope's message at the end of the rosary were reassured. Although his voice was weak, many felt that the message represented consolation in the midst of uncertainty about his health.

In the last few weeks, Francis has had some ups and downs in his health. Although he is currently stable, his clinical condition remains reserved and his health continues to be under observation.
