Pope Leo XIV to return from July vacation with a packed schedule awaiting him. The Vatican confirmed these celebrations for August and September of 2025.
August will begin with a Mass that will take many back in time. In the year 2000, Pope Saint John Paul II celebrated the Jubilee of Youth at the University of Tor Vergata. Pope Leo will preside over the same event 25 years later, on August 3 at 9:00 a.m.
On August 15, the Pope will change settings and return to Castel Gandolfo, where he will once again celebrate Mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Thomas of Villanova.
Moving into September, one of the most anticipated moments will arrive. The canonization of Pier Giorgio Frassati and the young Carlo Acutis will take place on September 7 in St. Peter's Square.
Exactly one week later, on September 14, a very special day will be observed. Pope Leo will go to St. Paul Outside the Walls to celebrate a mass in memory of new martyrs. September 14 also marks Pope Leo's birthday. He will turn 70 years old, so there may be an additional celebration in the Vatican that day.
Finally, to close out the two months, Pope Leo XIV will celebrate the Jubilee of Catechists in St. Peter’s Square on September 28 at 10:00 a.m.
