Robert Redford has died at the age of 89. The actor became a Hollywood legend thanks to roles in films such as Out of Africa, The Sting, and All the President’s Men.
In 2019, he visited the Vatican with his wife. He was able to greet Pope Francis after a general audience. Here is how the meeting went:
“Holy Father, my name is Robert Redford and I want to thank you for all you've done for the environment.”
“God bless you.”
“Thank you.”
“Pray for me.”
“I do.”
Redford passed away in Utah while sleeping. He spent six decades both in front of and behind the camera, and his years of work established him as one of the greatest movie stars in history.
