U.S. bishops have spoken out following the shooting of a migrant center in Dallas on September 24, resulting in one person's death and the critical condition of two others.

The attacker was a 29-year-old man, Joshsua Jahn. According to the FBI director, the motivation may have been political. The FBI shared images to social media of the shell-casings that bare the inscription “ANTI-ICE”.

Bishops from several dioceses have released statements regarding the attack. For example, the Archbishop of San Francisco called for renewed prayer:

At its core, this is a spiritual crisis. A great deal of prayer is needed — in fact, it's essential. This is not something irrelevant or an excuse to merely acknowledge the tragedy and move on. Without help from above, there is no way out.

The attack took place during National Migration Week, organized by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, and just ahead of the Jubilee for Migrants.
