At the end of the Angelus, Pope Leo XIV reminded those present of the beatifications that took place in Spain over the weekend.
POPE LEO XIV
Yesterday in Jaén, Spain, the priest Manuel Izquierdo and 58 companions were beatified, together with the priest Antonio Montañés Chiquero and 64 companions, who were killed out of hatred for the faith during the religious persecution of the years 1936–38.
He also pointed out other beatifications that took place in France, likewise for martyrdom. These involved about 50 people who were killed during the Nazi occupation.
