Several famous musicians have performed for Pope Leo this year, including Marco Frisina, Riccardo Muti, and Michael Bublé.

But recently it was the turn of the youngest members of the household to impress the Pope. On December 16, the students of the Pontifical Paul VI School in Castel Gandolfo put on quite the show for Pope Leo's third Christmas concert.

It was a heartwarming event in which the children sang and danced Christmas carols in Italian, English, and Spanish, including a performance of The Little Drummer Boy:

After the show, the Pope shared a few words and addressed the children, thanking them for their musical presentation.

POPE LEO XIV
In the first song you sang, the words were something like ‘angels who bring love,’ and it was you who brought love to all of us tonight with this beautiful music. We thank you all for this splendid music.

With the children’s parents and teachers present, Pope Leo reminded the audience of the real and intimate meaning of Christmas and the birth of Jesus.

POPE LEO XIV
God wished to communicate to all of us the gift of love. This is Christmas: God who wanted to draw close to us, especially to the smallest ones. With this spirit that we are already celebrating tonight and in the coming days and at Christmas—may it be throughout the whole year—so that we may feel and live this love of Christmas.

Besides sharing the gift of music, the school also had something else special to offer the Pope near the end of the event.

Now that Pope Leo is an official member of the school, it was only fitting that he should receive the school uniform. The Pope visited the school after spending the day at Villa Barberini, a place he goes to almost every week.
