This entrance procession marked the start of the final Mass that Pope Leo XIV would celebrate in Yaoundé before departing for Angola.
Accompanied by traditional songs, altar servers, and priests, Pope Leo presided over the Eucharist at the airport in honor of Mary, Queen of the Apostles.
During the ceremony, he incensed the image of the Virgin, highlighting her importance in the celebration.
Mary, Queen of the Apostles, holds special signifigance in Cameroon, where she is the country’s patroness, with her main shrine located in Mvolyé, in Yaoundé.
Around 20,000 faithful attended, taking part in Pope Leo XIV’s farewell with deep devotion.
