One of the most touching moments of the pope's trip to Angola, in Saurimo, happened on his third day there.
Pope Leo XIV arrived by plane from the capital of the country shortly after 9am. While he drove through Saurimo on his Popemobile, a young boy ran alongside his car, “following” the pope—he clearly did not want to miss a single moment of the visit.
The Pope’s first visit in the province of Lunda Sul, where Saurimo is located, was a meeting at a care home for the elderly.
Later, he will celebrate Mass, with a brief stop at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption for a moment of prayer and for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
