In a rare moment, the Spanish Parliament found common ground in the message delivered by Pope Leo XIV from the podium of Spain’s Congress of Deputies.
Following the pope's speech in defense of the value of life and human dignity, which contained references to the School of Salamanca and Francisco de Vitoria, the 300 plus lawmakers in attendance rose to their feet and applauded for fifteen minutes. After the event, Leo XIV proceeded to the Spanish Episcopal Conference.
