The Castellers of Vilafranca welcomed Pope Leo XIV to the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, where the second prayer vigil of his apostolic journey in Spain took place.
The castellers are a traditional Catalan cultural group known for building human towers made up of dozens of people. Each tower is raised through the coordinated efforts of teams known as colles castelleres. Since 2010, the group has been recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. With members of all ages, the castellers represent solidarity, teamwork, trust, and inclusion.
