The Escolania de Montserrat sang the Virolai for Pope Leo XIV at the Basilica of Saint Mary of Montserrat during his apostolic journey in Spain.

Founded more than 800 years ago, the Escolania is one of Europe's oldest and most renowned boys' choirs. Composed of about 50 boys between the ages of 9 and 14, the choir sings at the monastery's daily liturgies and has become a cherished symbol of Catalan culture and religious heritage.

Known as the hymn of Our Lady of Montserrat, the Virolai honors the Virgin Mary, patroness of Catalonia. It was composed in 1880 with lyrics by Jacint Verdaguer and music by Josep Rodoreda.
