The Church around the world gathered in prayer for Pope Leo XIV on Tuesday, October 13, after his admittance to the Gemelli University Hospital.
The pope is scheduled for a surgery to remove a “small, localized nodule” from his lung.
Cardinal Baldo Reina, Vicar General of Rome, led the rosary at 6pm in the hospitals' St. John Paul II Chapel with both patients and staff in attendance. He invited every parish and religious community in the city to join him in prayer.
Then, the faithful sang the Salve Regina together in prayer for Pope Leo's health.
The Pope's Augustinian brothers requested prayers not only for his recovery but also for the medical team providing his care.
