If you walk toward Bernini’s great Baldachin, you’ll see to the right this entrance—the Octagon Rooms, located directly beneath Michelangelo’s dome. What might seem like just another display actually hides a new exhibition space inside: “Petros Ení”.

The title is inspired by an ancient inscription found near the apostle’s tomb—an inscription that helped identify the tomb of Saint Peter.

The projections, created with artificial intelligence, depict the apostle’s life, key moments, and his martyrdom. They also offer an immersive experience to explore the construction process of the basilica. This is one of them:

An experience brought to life by the Fabric of Saint Peter in collaboration with Microsoft, presenting a unique way to see the story behind the creation of this great temple. It is a display of the most hidden corners and the story of the man whose name it bears: Saint Peter.
