Pope Leo XIV will return to Castel Gandolfo on September 5th to inaugurate Borgo Laudato Si', a project that began with Pope Francis in 2023 and will feature the music of Andrea Bocelli.

It covers approximately 133 acres located in the Papal Villas of this Italian citadel. It includes gardens, monuments, archaeological remains, and agricultural areas. The mission is to raise awareness about the importance of caring for nature.

Pope Leo has already been to Borgo Laudato Si' three times. The first was a private visit on May 29th. In July, he inaugurated a new Mass form with the project team.

POPE LEO XIV

And you are the life of this Laudato Si' center and I would also like to say thank you at this moment, on this occasion, for everything you do following this beautiful inspiration of Pope Francis who has given this small portion, these gardens, these spaces, precisely to continue the very important portion of everything we already know after ten years of Laudato Si'.

Pope Leo also had lunch with the poor at this site on his last trip to Castel Gandolfo. Now, he'll return for the fourth time to put the finishing touches on one of Pope Francis's signature ecological initiatives.
