Pope Leo XIV will begin the month of March next Sunday at the Church of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ, located in the Roman neighborhood known as 'El Quarticciolo'.

Pope Leo XIV continues his visits to the different parishes of the diocese he is responsible for prior to the celebration of Easter.

Even though the Mass will take place at 5:00 PM, Pope Leo will arrive an hour earlier to learn about the work carried out there by the community of the Dehonian Fathers. They are members of the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, founded by the French priest Leo Dehon in 1878 in France.

This visit generates much interest due to the characteristics of one of the neighborhoods with great socioeconomic challenges: it is one of the largest drug-selling areas in Rome. Pope Leo will have the opportunity to meet mothers of addicted children and witness this reality firsthand.

It is the third time that 'El Quarticciolo' received the visit of a Pope: San Juan XXIII during the 60s and San Juan Pablo II in the 80s. Now, it is the turn of Pope Leo XIV.
