After his Angelus in Castel Gandolfo, the Pope thanked everyone and bid farewell to those who had made his stay possible in the town, which is the traditional summer residence of the popes.
Afterwards he greeted pilgrims in the square, and extended his persona thanks to members of different security services, including firefighters, police officers, gendarmes and the Swiss Guard, who helped ensure his safety over the summer.
