Pope Francis expressed concern about the recent wave of attacks in Niger that claimed the lives of at least 137 people near the border with Mali.

POPE FRANCIS
Let us pray for the victims, for their families, for the entire population, so that the violence suffered does not make them lose sight of the path toward democracy, justice and peace.

The Pope also remembered World Tuberculosis Day, observed every March 24. Tuberculosis kills as many people as Covid each year. The goal is to eradicate the disease by 2030.

POPE FRANCIS
May this annual event foster a renewed interest in the treatment of this disease and increased solidarity toward those who suffer from it.

Pope Francis also recalled the floods in Australia, which have forced thousands of people to be evacuated in New South Wales and the lower coastal areas.

The Pope sent a message of support to those who have lost their homes, and to those who have been helping with search and rescue services.
