The pope denounces the "moral blindness of this indifference”: "under the guise of what is politically correct or ideologically fashionable, one looks at those who suffer without touching them. The upcoming papal visit to Bolivia already has a theme and logo

2015-05-05

Pope Francis' upcoming trip to Bolivia already has a theme. It's: "Reconciliation and renewal in the joy of the Gospel.” It will be an underlying theme throughout the visit.  The logo will be embroidered on the vestments and stoles that priests and bishops wear during the papal visit.

The logo was inspired by the trip's theme, which is based on reconciliation and renewal.

"When we speak of reconciliation, it's the desire we have as a Church for wounds to be healed and reconciled.”

The new logo has three sections: a cross, people  and the Bible. It is colored red, yellow, and green, which represent the Bolivian flag.

The country's Episcopal Conference has also developed an application called "Pope Francis in Bolivia.” It will be available for download in the coming days. More information about the visit can be accessed online. A hymn writing contest is also being held.

Pope Francis will travel to Latin America this July. After visiting Ecuador, he will be in Bolivia from July 8th to 10th. The trip will end in Paraguay.
