Pope sends condolences for victims of Turkish cargo jet crash

January 16, 2017. On Monday morning, a Turkish cargo plane has tragically crashed in Kyrgyzstan, killing dozens and hospitalizing many others. Many homes and vehicles in the small village are also destroyed. As a result, Vatican Secretary of State, Pietro Parolin has sent a message of condolences to the victims of the disaster on behalf of Pope Francis.

Pope's weekly schedule: 'Amoris Laetitia', his new exhortation on the family

On Monday morning, Pope Francis will resume his daily Mass with the pilgrims from Casa Santa Marta. 

As usual, on Wednesday he will greet thousands of pilgrims in St. Peter's Square during his weekly general audience. That same day, the VatiLeaks 2 trial is expect to resume at the Vatican.

Then on Thursday, Pope Francis is scheduled to meet with Croatian Prime Minister Tihomir Oreskovic. It is expected that they will talk about  the possible beatification of Cardinal Alojzije Stepinac, the migrant crisis and the recent terror attacks in Brussels.

On Friday, Pope Francis’ eagerly anticipated, apostolic exhortation 'Amoris Laetitia', a document with his proposals on the Family will be published.

On Saturday morning, Pope Francis will receive thousands of pilgrims who have come to Rome to celebrate the Holy Year.

Finally, on Sunday at noon, the Pope will pray the Regina Coeli, which in the Easter Season and until the Pentecost replaces the Angelus. Every week, after this prayer, he will raise public awareness concerning current world issues.
