Article 26 of the Universal Declaration for Human Rights says that everyone has a right to education. But that right, isn't always available, especially to children.

That's where an initiative titled 'Scholas' comes in. The purpose is for schools in different parts of the globe to share resources and knowledge. It's backed by Pope Francis and in just one year more than 300,000 schools from across the globe have joined in.

So for example, teachers in Argentina can post information online about the tactics they used to teach their students to multiply or divide. That information can be accessed by teachers and students in Africa.

On September 2nd, Scholas will have a meeting to mark its first year. It will be a way to reflect on what they have accomplished and what needs to get done.

'People from El Salvador will be there and also from Argentina. We'll hear accounts from Africa, Europe and North America. So, we'll have people from all over the world. The meeting will come to a close on September 4th, with Pope Francis.â?

Part of the project will be a web portal where schools, teachers and students will be able to share. There's also a Facebook page.

'So, this website will be based on exchanging information. Schools that need specific resources can access the web portal and exchange ideas and techniques with schools and universities in different parts of the globe.â?

Sports, along with the values athletics indirectly and directly promote, are also a key part of Scholas. On Monday September 1st, soccer stars like Lionel Messi and Gianluigi Buffon will play an inter-religious soccer match to promote education and peace. More than 50 soccer stars from different religions will take part in the match in Rome's Olympic Stadium.
