There was only one birthday wish for this Nigerian woman: to see the Pope. That's why she convinced her parish to come to St. Peter's for the General Audience.

Although she didn't get a change to speak to Pope Francis, seeing him from up close was an unforgettable experience for her. This moment, she said, strengthened her faith.

'Oh the experience was fantastic, it was really really moving, it was spirit-filled. As a Catholic I believe so much in the faith and that it has worked out for me, especially when I have issues and I am worried. So I thought that this is another time I should display a thank you to God.

With the Synod on the family well under way, she believes that Nigerian families are very much united.

'We still have the family bonding in Nigeria so we are not have been a lot of problems with that. Where we have problems it's just (with) the young children who interact abroad, who go abroad for school and other. So we have been some influence from that. But typically families are still very much togetherâ?.

The group will take advantage of the trip to visit the main shrines of Europe. Before returning to Nigeria, they will visit the shrimes of Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Rita of Cassia, two saints who are very popular in their country.
