Pope Francis: When you help the sick, are you afraid to touch them?

Pilgrims filled St. Peter's Square on Sunday for Pope Francis' Angelus prayer. This week, the Pope asked the crowd to reflect on how to help the needy. He said that those who help the poor cannot be afraid to touch them. POPE FRANCIS "If we are to be imitators of Christ before the poor or the sick, we should not be afraid to look the afflicted person in the eye, and be close to the suffering person with tenderness and compassion.â? Pope Francis said that just as evil is contagious, so is goodness. He added that all Christians are called to be instruments of God's love. POPE FRANCIS "We must allow good to fill us. Let us be infected by goodness, and let us spread the good contagion.â? The Pope greeted those who attended the Consistory of cardinals and accompanied the new cardinals as they received their new positions. POPE FRANCIS "I appreciate the presence of official delegations from various countries who were present at this event." And here is the applause that the 20 new cardinals, coming from 14 different countries, received.   MPI/ATO CTV ? -BN up:ATO
