(ONLY VIDEO) The Charlemagne Prize recognizes the work of individuals or institutions that have distinguished themselves in favor of the process of European unity and commitment to peace.

Pope Francis will receive it in the Regal Room of the Vatican at 12:00 noon. Among those present will be Felipe VI, the King of Spain; Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission; Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor; Martin Schulz, from the European Parliament; and Donald Tusk from the EU Council, all whom have previously received the award. ;
