The pizza party Pope Francis organized for 1,500 poor people in the Vatican was a hit!

Dispute being 79-years-old, Pope Francis shows no sign of slowing down. After braving the intense Roman heat during the canonization ceremony that lasted for more than two hours in Saint Peter's, he still had one more activity on his already busy agenda for that day.  He met with the "pizzaioli.â? It is the official Italian term for those who are responsible for making one of the most popular dishes in Italy: pizza. The special event took place inside of the Paul VI Audience Hall in the Vatican. Three ovens were installed and several cooks got down to work with great skill and energy. Within minutes, one of the major places for meetings with the Pope became a large dining room for 1,500 needy. Most of the needy that were there are from the shelters guided by the sisters of the congregation founded by Mother Teresa.  In fact, more than 250 Missionaries of Charity served lunch to the poor in attendance. Pope Francis paid tribute to Mother Teresa the best way anyone could, by dedicating time and serving the poorest of poor. A simple gesture aimed at taking care of the sick and without resources.
