Fifty years ago, a historical event took place: the first meeting between a pope and an Archbishop of Canterbury. Pope Paul VI and Archbishop Michael Ramsey met in Rome in 1966, a few months after the Second Vatican Council.

Now Pope Francis once again meets with the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, to commemorate the anniversary. The two will celebrate First Vespers in the Basilica of San Gregorio al Celio.
