Born in Seville, Spain, in 1877, he was known as the 'Bishop of the abandoned tabernacle,â? and he is also the founder of the 'Eucharistic Missionaries of Nazareth.â?

'He arrives at this town, and he finds that in front of the tabernacle, in the church, there is no one. There he realizes that Jesus came to give us life, He is in the Eucharist, but we have abandoned Him. That is why he says he wants to be the 'Bishop of the abandoned tabernacle.'â?
He coined an expression that describes his ultimate goal in life: to 'eucharistizeâ? the world. To fulfill that goal, he founded the Eucharistic Missionaries of Nazareth.

Manuel González is being canonized after his intercession was proven in a miraculous healing, but according to Sr. Mónica and Sr. María his legacy goes far beyond, as a way for the world to be a witness of his unwavering faith in God.

Manuel González will be canonized on October 16 along with six other blesseds, who will all be enrolled in the canon of saints by Pope Francis.
