Pope Francis has appointed Angelo De Donatis vicar for Rome, after accepting the renunciation of Card. Agostino Vallini for this position. This is an important appointment, because he is one of the pope's main collaborators and will now be in the public eye. ;

He is 63 years old, and less than two years ago, he was pastor of a church in the center of the city.

When he was in charge of the spiritual care of priests, he delivered the first Lenten retreat for Pope Francis in March 2014.

A year and a half later, in November 2015, Pope Francis named him auxiliary bishop of Rome.

'Yes, I want it.'

He now becomes one of the leading leaders of the Catholic Church in Italy, and one of the most heard in the world.
