Not all Nativity scenes are made of clay figures and glittery stars. This live display in Rome perfectly recreates every tiny detail of the story using real people and animals. It will remain open until January 6.

Gladiators, craftsmen, merchants, visitors...even King Herod. The show was met with curious stares from hundreds of children from different schools.

GLADIATOR
“I'm in charge of the centurions. My job is very complicated. It's to observe, above all, especially during this time.”

All of these elements in a unique place make it an almost-real journey to the Nativity scene of 2,000 years ago. In each place is a craftsman in charge of a different trade.

CRAFTSMAN 1
“In order to make sweaters, first I have to ball up the yarn to make it softer so it's easier to work with later.”

CRAFTSMAN 2
“It's important that these shoes be comfortable and good for walking.”

Like any other Nativity display in the world, baby Jesus was essential, as he was closely monitored by Mary and Joseph.

JOSEPH AND MARY
“It's exciting to see your son here, not conceived, but sent by the Lord and announced by the angel Gabriel.”

“We have him in our arms, it's a beautiful feeling.”

The ox and donkey were also looking on. It was a scene so beautiful that the children couldn't help but sing Christmas carols to them.

Without a doubt, it was a special Nativity full of emotions that made it easier for the little ones to understand what life was like during Jesus' birth.
