Pope announces Dublin travel plans for World Meeting of Families

Pope Francis announced that he will attend one of the largest Catholic world events: the World Meeting of Families, which will be held this year in Dublin, Ireland.

POPE FRANCIS "On the occasion of the next World Meeting of Families, I intend to travel to Dublin, from August 25 to 26 of this year. I thank the civil authorities, the bishops, the Bishop of Dublin, and all those who are collaborating to prepare this trip. Thank you."

The announcement was made in front of the Meeting's official icon of the Holy Family, which was delivered to him during the Audience. Two Irish families were responsible for presenting it to the pope.

The Catholic encounter takes place every three years, with the last one in Philadelphia, USA in 2015.
