App facilitates donation to pay for child's food

Today, some 815 million people don't have access to enough food for a healthy and active life.

To solve it, the “Share the Meal” app by the World Food Programme allows one to easily donate 40 cents, which are enough to feed a child for a day.

In the app, one can select which country he or she would like to help, such as Yemen, Syria, Bangladesh or northeastern Nigeria.

“Share the Meal” virtually links each donor with a family that receives the aid, thus showing where the food is going.

The platform also allows one to donate by posting a photo on social media with the hashtag #ShareTheMeal.
