Pope's January prayer intention: For young people to know Mary more

Kicking off 2019 with World Youth Day in Panama, Pope Francis' “Pope Video” is for this encounter.

Thus, his prayer intention for this month is encouraging prayers for young people to follow Mary's example and joyfully spread the Gospel.

The pope expressed that the Blessed Mother is “a reason for joy and a source of inspiration.”

Thus, he asked that youth “take advantage of the World Youth Day in Panama to contemplate Christ together with Mary. We will pray the Rosary together for peace, each of us in our own language.”

He said his prayers especially go out to young people in Latin America to “ follow the example of Mary and respond to the call of the Lord to communicate the joy of the Gospel to the world.”
