The pope departs to commence World Youth Day in Panama

Few minutes before 10:00 a.m. the pope's plane left Rome toward Panama where he'll celebrate his third World Youth Day; the 14th outside the Eternal City.

The plane is expected to be landing at 4:30p.m. local time. The pope will be greeted by the local authorities but he won't be pronouncing any official speech until tomorrow.

During the five day trip the pope will preside over the main events of the WYD, some of them will be very emotive as the one where he will visit a center for minors and will also hear their confessions.
