For the month of June, Pope Francis has asked Christians to pray for their priests. He notes although they are not perfect many of them give “their all until the very end, offering themselves with humility and joy.”
The pope adds the need to be thankful for the testimony priests give. He says it is important priests “commit themselves actively,above all,to solidarity with those who are most poor.”
According to the 2018 Catholic Church Statistics, they are around 414,969 priests in the world. The majority of them are located in Europe and account for 176,557.
