During his monthly video, the pope asked Christians to pray “that a spirit of dialogue, encounter, and reconciliation emerge in the Middle East.”

The pope's video from the World Network of Prayer speaks about the historical and spiritual roots of the coexistence between the three monotheistic religions in these lands, remembering the Resurrection took place here.

The pope also recalls many Christian, Jewish and Muslim communities 'work here for peace, reconciliation, and forgiveness.' This is because the Middle East uniquely has all three religions descendant of Abraham living together in the same space.

The prayer intention arises a week after the document against euthanasia signed by Christians, Jews and Muslims was presented to the pope. It was further proof that union and dialogue are possible in the Middle East.
